Gudi Padwa

Gudi Padwa is a popular festival celebrated by the people of Maharashtra. It marks the beginning of the New Year and is considered an auspicious time for new beginnings. This year, a group of volunteers decided to celebrate Gudi Padwa with the children living in the slums area of Mumbai by donating Puri Shrikhand.
As the volunteers arrived in the slums, they were greeted by a group of curious and excited children. The volunteers had come prepared with boxes of Puri Shrikhand for the Children. They quickly got to work, setting up a small stage for the celebrations. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the Gudi, a traditional flag made of cloth, flowers, and a bamboo stick. The children watched in awe as the Gudi was raised on the stage, symbolizing the beginning of a new year. The volunteers then organized a series of games and activities for the children. They played games like musical chairs, lemon race, and other fun activities. The children were thrilled to participate in the games and the volunteers cheered them on, encouraging them to do their best.
After the games, the volunteers distributed boxes of Puri Shrikhand to the children. The children were overjoyed to receive the food, which they eagerly shared with their friends and families.  The volunteers then organized a small cultural program. The children danced and sang songs, showcasing their talents and skills.  As the day came to an end, the volunteers distributed gifts and snacks to the children. They hugged each other goodbye, promising to meet again soon. The children were grateful for the opportunity to celebrate Gudi Padwa with the volunteers and to receive the donation of Puri Shrikhand. For the volunteers, it was a fulfilling day, knowing that they had brought joy and happiness to the children in the slums. Celebrating Gudi Padwa with kids in the slums and donating Puri Shrikhand had truly been a meaningful and memorable experience for everyone involved. It was a day that would be remembered by the children for years to come.
